Imagine my surprise when I went to update my blog, only to find it had gone, yes the whole she-bang. Now when I started blogging I wasn’t sure in what direction I wanted the blog to take, however I did know that I wanted it to be self hosted as the possibilities were endless in what you can do hence why I went for WordPress. I started looking at themes and a few hours later I picked one ( which I realised a few days later that it wasn’t quite what I wanted ) picked an original name ( that had already been taken) so picked another ( taken) then another ( you get the idea now) It turns out that me having all these really great names for an original web address and name of the blog turned out that they wasn’t that original after all. Drat!
Then I had to find a host that wasn’t a fortune, after all my attempts at keeping a diary always start off well, but come on the 2nd week in January and it would be pushed into a drawer never to be seen again.
By now I had been on the computer for hours. Here is me thinking that it would be a quick thing. But alas no, the self hosting was a nightmare in itself but I finally got fed up of reading the reviews and picked one.
This is where it seems I made the mistake. I had selected the three month options and didn’t press auto renew, so when I went online and saw it was missing and then checked my old email account and saw that I had received an email with a notice that it was due to expire and I didn’t see it well you can guess the rest… double drat!!
So here I am starting afresh thankfully it was only 20 odd posts and nothing that exciting. However the good news is that I know what I want from my little blog, still none the wiser with a good name though, I guess 21 New Street it is then still!
And here I was going to fettle the house, a quick update on the blog and then cook a lovely tea and relax… best laid plans and all that.
